Dr. Eman Ahmed Helmy is a distinguished Professor of Microbiology and Biotechnology at the Regional Center for Mycology and Biotechnology (RCMB), Al-Azhar University, Cairo, Egypt. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree with a specialization in Microbiology from Al-Azhar University in 1999, graduating with an Excellent with Honor Degree and ranking as the Second-top student of the university. She furthered her education by obtaining a Master of Science degree in Applied Mycology in 2005, followed by a Ph.D. in Mycology in 2010, both from Al-Azhar University.

Throughout her career, Dr. Helmy has held various research and academic positions, including Research Assistant at the Soil, Water & Environment Institute, Agricultural Research Center (ARC), and Assistant Researcher at the Regional Center for Mycology and Biotechnology (RCMB) at Al-Azhar University. She has also served as an Associate Professor and currently as a Professor at RCMB, where she heads the Nano-biotechnology unit and serves as a member of the Biological Activity unit and as the Head Treasure of the Culture Collection Unit.
