Dr. Abulela is a synthetic organic chemist specializing in heterocyclic and selenium-containing compounds. He is currently a full-time researcher at the Assiut Sugar Industry Technology Research Institute and a part-time lecturer at the Faculty of Science, New Valley Branch, Assiut University. His research expertise spans bioactive small-molecule synthesis, analytical chemistry, biocatalysis, and environmental applications. He has played a key role in national projects, including modification of sugarcane bagasse for adsorption applications and the development of eco-friendly analytical methods for sugar and ethanol quantification. His work has also contributed to biofuel research, enzyme activity assays, and wastewater treatment solutions using bio-sorbents.
