His current role as a Researcher at the Institutionen för husdjursgenetik (Hgen), Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet (SLU), Uppsala, Sweden, from January 2022 to December 2023, exemplifies his commitment to advancing genetic research.
Previously, Banabazi served as the Deputy of Research and Technology, and Extension at the Animal Science Research Institute of Iran (ASRI) in Karaj, Iran, from October 2017 to January 2022. During this tenure, he played a pivotal role in shaping research initiatives and technological advancements in the field of animal science.
His dedication to the preservation of animal genetic resources is evident in his role as the FAO National Coordinator on Animal Genetic Resources (AnGR) at the National Center for Management of Genetic Resources in Tehran, Iran, from August 2019 to January 2022.
Banabazi’s academic leadership includes serving as the Head of the Department of Genetics and Breeding at ASRI from November 2016 to October 2017. As an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biotechnology at ASRI from August 2016 to January 2022, he imparted valuable knowledge to the next generation of researchers.
His international engagement includes a stint as a Visiting (Guest) Researcher at the Institutionen för husdjursgenetik (Hgen), SLU, Uppsala, Sweden, from March 2015 to September 2015, showcasing his commitment to global collaboration in genetic research.
Banabazi’s early career includes roles as a Research Assistant, where he contributed to various projects from May 2006 to August 2016, and as a Laboratory Assistant in the Molecular Genetics Laboratory from April 2004 to May 2006, both at the Department of Biotechnology, ASRI, Karaj, Iran.
