Dr. Saikat Biswas brings a diverse and enriching background to his academic and research endeavors. His professional journey includes serving as a Senior Research Fellow (SRF) on a project funded by AB Mauri Pvt. Ltd., where he contributed his expertise and insights to a specific research initiative. Following this, Dr. Biswas assumed the role of Assistant Professor in Agronomy at Lovely Professional University in Phagwara, Punjab, India, from 28 August 2021 to 30 April 2022. During this period, he actively engaged in teaching and scholarly activities, making significant contributions to the academic community.
Continuing his commitment to agricultural education and research, Dr. Biswas currently holds the position of Assistant Professor in Agronomy at the Faculty of Agriculture, Rural and Tribal Development, Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute in Morabadi, Ranchi, Jharkhand-834008, starting from 5 May 2022. In this capacity, he plays a vital role in shaping the academic landscape and fostering research initiatives within the realm of agriculture.

His M.Sc. thesis delved into the intricacies of the “Effect of Nutrient Management on Food-forage Intercropping System of Oat and Lathyrus,” showcasing his expertise in optimizing agricultural practices for enhanced yields and sustainability.
In his Ph.D. thesis, Dr. Biswas focused on the “Response of Rabi Maize (Zea mays L.) to Irrigation and Fertilizer Levels in Gangetic Plains of West Bengal and its Simulation through CERES-Maize model.” This research reflects his dedication to understanding the nuanced interactions between environmental factors and crop responses, utilizing advanced simulation models to enhance predictive capabilities.
Participating in the Rural Agricultural Work Experience (RAWE) in 2015, conducted by Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya, Dr. Biswas gained valuable hands-on experience, contributing to his practical insights into agricultural practices. His involvement in the National Service Scheme (NSS) activities at the same institution during his B.Sc. (Ag) program underscores his commitment to community service and social responsibility.
