Dr. Shuqin Song is a part-time Ph.D. candidate at Beijing Forestry University and an Associate Professor at Chifeng University, specializing in water-saving irrigation for forest trees. His research focuses on deficit irrigation of Xanthoceras sorbifolium Bunge in China’s Horqin Sandy Land to balance water conservation, yield, and quality. He has contributed over 800 research hours annually and translated field challenges into impactful scientific studies. He is first author of a Q1 Agricultural Water Management publication (IF 6.5). His optimal irrigation strategy significantly increased net returns while conserving water. His work has strong ecological and economic value for arid-region forestry. Future studies will examine irrigation effects on seed fatty acids, harvest index, and fruit quality.
