Dr. Marise Lazaretti-Castro is an Adjunct Professor of Endocrinology at the Escola Paulista de Medicina, Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP), Brazil. She heads the Osteometabolic Diseases Research Unit and is an experienced clinical endocrinologist specializing in the treatment of osteoporosis, parathyroid diseases, and other conditions related to bone fragility. Throughout her career, Dr. Lazaretti-Castro has mentored over 20 PhD graduates and 30 Master’s graduates. She served as the Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Endocrinology and Metabolism at UNIFESP for seven years. Additionally, she has authored around 200 articles and numerous book chapters.

Dr. Lazaretti-Castro is a former president of the Brazilian Association for Bone Assessment, Osteoporosis, and Osteometabolism (ABRASSO) and was the President of the 35th Brazilian Congress of Endocrinology and Metabolism of the Brazilian Society of Endocrinology and Metabolism (SBEM) held in São Paulo in 2022. She currently participates in the Scientific Committees of both ABRASSO and SBEM and represents Latin America on the Ex-Officio Council of the International Osteoporosis Foundation.
